Tunnel Runner is a first-person maze game published by CBS Electronics for the Atari 2600 in 1983. Players navigate a randomly generated labyrinth of corridors while being chased by monsters — a genuinely tense survival concept, and technically distinctive for what the 2600 could render at the time.
How to Play
Move through the tunnels and stay alive as long as possible. The maze is randomly generated each game, so no two runs share the same layout. Monsters patrol the corridors and close in quickly; keep moving and use the twisting passages to create distance. Press F11 to cycle through difficulty variations before starting — higher settings mean faster, more aggressive enemies. F12 resets.
