Game description:

Tetrisphere is a unique puzzle game released in 1997 for the Nintendo 64. Developed by H2O Entertainment, it moves away from traditional 2D falling blocks and challenges you to match shapes on a 3D spherical playfield. You must drop pieces from the surface to strip away layers and reveal the core hidden beneath.

How to Play

The objective is to clear away the blocks covering the sphere to expose the core. You do this by dropping a piece so that it lands adjacent to existing blocks of the same shape and color, causing them to explode and clear a path.

  • Movement: Arrow keys (maps to the D-pad/analog stick)
  • Drop / Confirm: X (maps to the A button)
  • Cancel / Slide: Z (maps to the B button)
  • Start: Enter

Tips

  • Combo chains are the key to clearing layers quickly. Try to set up cascading reactions where destroying one group of blocks causes others to fall and match.
  • Keep an eye out for glowing “Magic” blocks, which trigger massive, screen-clearing explosions when matched with regular pieces of the same type.
  • Focus on digging deeply in a specific spot rather than clearing the surface evenly, as this is the fastest way to breach the core.
