Game description:

Step into the squared circle with WWF War Zone, a professional wrestling game released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 by Iguana West. Unlike other wrestling titles of the era, this game features a unique combo-based grappling system that requires precision inputs. Featuring a massive roster from the peak of the Attitude Era, you can battle it out in a variety of match types, including tag team, cage matches, and the chaotic Royal Rumble.

How to Play

The objective is to drain your opponent’s health meter and secure a win via pinfall or submission. In the browser emulator, the N64 analog stick and D-pad are typically mapped to your arrow keys, with the A, B, and C-buttons mapped to your keyboard (usually Z, X, and surrounding keys). To initiate a grapple, move close and press the grapple button, then follow up with specific button combinations to execute moves.

Tips

  • Memorize your moves: Because moves are executed using fighting game-style inputs (like Up, Down, Punch), pause the game frequently when starting out to check your specific wrestler’s movelist.
  • Watch the stun meter: When your opponent’s health is low, they will enter a dizzy state. This is the perfect time to execute your wrestler’s devastating finishing move to secure the victory.
