Game description:

Super Monaco GP is a landmark Formula One racing simulator released for the Sega Genesis in 1990 by Sega. Transitioning the fast-paced action of the arcade original to the home console, this classic title offers a deep World Championship mode where players compete across multiple international circuits to earn their place on top-tier racing teams. Known for its impressive pseudo-3D graphics, rear-view mirror feature, and challenging AI opponents, it remains one of the definitive racing experiences of the 16-bit era.

How to Play

Your objective is to win the World Championship by consistently placing high in races, upgrading your car, and defeating rival drivers to take their seats in better teams. You can choose between automatic and manual transmissions before the race.

  • Steer: Arrow Keys
  • Accelerate: X
  • Brake: C
  • Shift Gears: Z (in manual mode)
  • Start / Pause: Enter

Tips

  • When using a manual transmission, listen to your engine’s pitch to know precisely when to shift up. Manual cars can reach a higher top speed than automatic ones.
  • Memorize the tracks to anticipate sharp corners. Releasing the accelerator just before a turn, rather than relying heavily on the brake, will help you maintain a better racing line and momentum.
