Released by Imagic in 1982 for the Atari 2600, Star Voyager is a first-person space combat simulator that challenges you to manage resources while defending the galaxy. Viewed from inside the cockpit, you must hunt down enemy fleets across different star sectors before your ship runs out of energy.
How to play
Your objective is to survive and destroy as many enemy fighters and command ships as possible. Every action consumes energy, particularly firing lasers and engaging the warp drive, making it essential to dock with starbases to refuel.
- Fly: Arrow keys (Player 1) or T/F/G/H (Player 2)
- Fire: Spacebar (Player 1) or A (Player 2)
- Warp Drive: Up Arrow
- Select / Reset: F11 / F12
Tips
- Keep an eye on your energy reserves. If you run out of energy or take a direct hit while your shields are down, the game is over.
- Use the radar scanner at the bottom of the screen to track enemy positions and locate starbases for refueling.
- Only use the warp drive when necessary to cross empty space quickly, as it drains your energy much faster than standard flying.
