Guardian is a wave shooter that Apollo published for the Atari 2600 in 1982. Enemies arrive in set formations, and their paths repeat on every attempt — making pattern recognition and screen position as important as reflexes. A second player can join using the same keyboard.
How to Play
Player 1 moves with the arrow keys and fires with Spacebar; Player 2 uses TGFH to move and A to fire. Hold Del (Player 1) or period (Player 2) for continuous turbo fire. F12 resets the game, F11 cycles game select, and Alt+P pauses. Survive as many waves as possible.
Tips
- Let the first formation pass before committing to a firing position — the enemy path repeats each wave, so one cautious read beats guessing every time.
- Turbo fire (Del for Player 1) clears dense clusters faster than single shots, giving you a window to reposition.
