Developed by VAP and released in 1995 for the SNES, Sprinter Monogatari – Mezase!! Ikkakusenkin is a lighthearted sports simulation that focuses on the professional Keirin track cycling lifestyle. Instead of just racing, players create their own anime-style cyclist and manage their training, shopping, and even gambling on other events to become a champion.
The main objective is to rise through the ranks of professional cycling by balancing aggressive and passive riding strategies during five-lap velodrome races. While standard SNES controls apply, you will primarily use the D-pad to navigate menus and direct your rider, with the A and B buttons handling selections and managing your racing stamina.
Success in Sprinter Monogatari relies heavily on managing your stamina during the races; avoid going into an all-out sprint too early. Spend time in the shopping district between events to properly supply your cyclist and gain an edge before your next race.
