Sonic 2 Encore is a fan-made ROM hack of the classic Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis. How to Play
The core objective remains the same: guide your character to the end of each act while collecting rings and destroying Dr. Robotnik’s badniks. The default Sega Genesis controls apply: use the D-pad (Arrow Keys) to move, duck, and look up, and press A, B, or C (Z, X, or C on your keyboard) to jump or trigger the spin dash when ducking.
Tips
- Because the level layouts have been modified, muscle memory from the original Sonic 2 might lead you into hazards. Take your time to explore the new pathways.
- Keep an eye out for newly placed monitors; extra lives and shields are often hidden in different locations than you might expect.
