Developed by Bluemoon Interactive in 1993, SkyRoads is a fast-paced DOS action-racing game where you pilot a hovercraft along suspended tracks in space. Rather than competing against other racers, the challenge is surviving the courses themselves by navigating tricky jumps, avoiding obstacles, and managing your ship’s fuel and oxygen levels across various planets with differing gravitational pulls.
How to play
Your goal is to reach the end of each track before running out of fuel or oxygen. Pay close attention to the colored tiles on the road, as they alter your ship’s behavior or provide essential supplies. Use the Arrow Keys to steer, accelerate (Up), and brake (Down), and press the Spacebar to jump.

Tips
- Memorize tile colors: Light blue tiles refill your fuel and oxygen, light green boosts your speed, dark green is sticky and slows you down, dark grey is slippery, and red tiles will destroy your ship on contact.
- Conserve fuel: Jumping uses fuel. Avoid unnecessary hops and always aim for light blue resupply tiles on longer tracks.
- Adjust to gravity: Different planets have different gravity. You will jump higher and fall slower on low-gravity worlds, which drastically changes the timing needed to clear large gaps.
