Game description:

SD Hiryuu no Ken is a fast-paced 2D fighting game developed by Culture Brain and released exclusively for the Super Famicom in 1994. Serving as a spin-off to the main Flying Dragon series, it trades realistic proportions for a vibrant super-deformed (chibi) art style. Players choose from a diverse roster of 15 fightersโ€”ranging from the series’ recurring hero, Ryuhi, to unusual combatants like an Egyptian mummy and a lionโ€”and battle it out using punches, kicks, and special techniques.

How to Play

The goal is to deplete your opponent’s health bar in one-on-one martial arts combat. The game uses the standard SNES control scheme: use the D-pad to move, jump, and execute special attack motions, while the face buttons handle your light and heavy strikes. When playing in the browser, the D-pad maps to the arrow keys, with the face buttons (Y, X, B, A) mapped to A, S, Z, and X. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.

Tips

  • Take advantage of the game’s varied roster; each character has unique reach and special moves, so experiment to find a fighter that matches your playstyle.
  • To access a hidden sound test, highlight the “Story” option on the main menu, then hold Select while pressing Start.
