Quinty, released in 1989 and better known in the West as Mendel Palace, is an inventive action-puzzle game for the NES and the debut title from Pokรฉmon creators Game Freak. Playing as Carton, you navigate single-screen rooms by physically flipping the floorboards beneath you to slide enemies into walls and clear the stage.
How to Play
Your goal is to clear each room of enemies without touching them. Stand next to an enemy and flip the floor tile to send them sliding helplessly away. Use the Arrow keys to move, Z or X to flip tiles, and Enter to start. Be careful not to slide yourself into danger.
Tips
- Pay attention to floor patterns: starred tiles yield items when flipped repeatedly, and sun tiles act as hazards or respawn points for enemies.
- You can trap enemies in corners to easily dispatch multiple foes with a single well-timed tile flip.
