The Japanese release of Namco’s defining arcade maze game brings the iconic action of Pac-Man to the Nintendo Entertainment System. As the titular hero, you are tasked with clearing every dot from a labyrinth while outmaneuvering four distinct, relentlessly pursuing ghosts.

How to Play

Guide your character through the maze to consume all the dots and advance to the next stage. Avoid the ghosts unless you have eaten one of the four large Power Pellets, which temporarily turns them blue and vulnerable. For this NES version in your browser, use the arrow keys to steer, Enter for Start, and Shift for Select.

Tips

• Each ghost has a unique movement pattern: Blinky chases you directly, Pinky tries to cut you off, Inky’s movements depend on Blinky’s position, and Clyde retreats when he gets too close.
• Use the side tunnels to your advantage; travelling through them slows the ghosts down significantly, giving you a chance to escape a tight spot.
• You move slightly slower while eating dots. If you are being chased along a straight path, take a route that is already clear to gain some distance.
