Originally tearing up the arcades, NBA Jam is the classic two-on-two arcade basketball game brought to the SNES in 1994 by Midway and Iguana Entertainment. Throwing away the rulebook of traditional sports sims, this fast-paced title focuses on gravity-defying dunks, shove mechanics with no fouls, and a roster of 1990s NBA stars.
How to Play
The objective is to outscore the opposing team in a chaotic, exaggerated game of two-on-two basketball. Since you only control one player while the AI handles your teammate, positioning and passing are key. For the SNES in your browser, use the Arrow Keys to move. On offense, press Z to pass, X to shoot or dunk, and A for a turbo boost. On defense, Z switches players, X jumps to block, and A activates turbo for steals and shoving.
Tips
Scoring three consecutive baskets with the same player without the opposing team scoring means you are “on fire”. While on fire, you have unlimited turbo and almost guaranteed shooting accuracy from anywhere on the court until the other team scores. When defending, don’t be afraid to use the shove button generously, as there are no fouls in the game.
