MRC: Multi Racing Championship is an off-road racing game developed by Genki and released for the Nintendo 64 in 1997. The game challenges you to master mixed-terrain tracks by letting you deeply customize your vehicle’s parts, such as tires, steering, and suspension, to handle the unique blend of asphalt and dirt roads.
How to Play
The objective is to conquer the multi-surface courses by tuning your vehicle to suit each track’s specific layout and outracing your opponents. On the Nintendo 64, use the Control Stick to steer, A to accelerate, B to brake, and the C Buttons to change your camera view or shift gears if you are using a manual transmission. When playing in the browser, these map to the arrow keys for steering, X to accelerate, Z to brake, and the A, S, Q, and W keys for the C Buttons.
Tips
- Since the tracks feature both on-road and off-road sections, pay close attention to the course map before a race to choose the right balance of tires and suspension.
- It is often better to select hybrid tires that handle reasonably well on both surfaces rather than maximizing for just one, as a poor setup on a dirt segment will severely impact your lap times.
