Game description:

Miniature Golf is a top-down sports game developed by Atari and released for the Atari 2600 in 1979. Supporting one or two alternating players, it challenges you to navigate a square ball through a blocky, nine-hole course filled with moving obstacles and right-angled walls.

How to play

The objective is to complete the course with the lowest possible stroke count. Instead of controlling a golfer, you control a small square club that you position around the ball to aim. The distance between the club and the ball determines the power of your shot. In two-player mode, players simply take turns attempting each hole.

Use the Arrow keys (or TGFH for player two) to move the club around the ball to set your angle and power. Press the Spacebar (or A for player two) to swing.

Tips

  • Your shot power is dictated entirely by how far the club is from the ball. Keep the club as close as possible for short, delicate putts near the hole.
  • Because the courses are built with rigid right angles, you will frequently need to bank your shots off the walls to navigate around sharp corners.
