Kung-Fu Master is a classic 1984 side-scrolling action game developed by Irem, brought to the Atari 2600. As martial artist Thomas, you must fight your way through the five floors of the Devil’s Temple to rescue Sylvia from the mysterious Mr. X. Known for being one of the earliest beat ’em up games, it challenges you to survive relentless waves of Grippers, Knife Throwers, and deadly traps on your ascent.
How to play
Your goal is to reach the end of each floor and defeat the boss before the timer runs out. Use the Arrow keys to move, jump (Up), and crouch (Down). Press the Spacebar to attack. Navigating the waves of enemies requires quick reflexes, alternating between high and low strikes to defeat different foes.
Tips
- Shake off Grippers: When a Gripper grabs you, rapidly alternate left and right movement to break free and minimize health loss.
- Dodge Knife Throwers: Keep a safe distance from Knife Throwers and be prepared to jump or duck their projectiles before rushing in for a hit.
