In this unique 1991 NES adaptation of the classic holiday film, you play as Kevin McCallister with a single, tense objective: survive for 20 real-time minutes until the police arrive. Rather than a traditional platformer, Home Alone is a game of evasion and strategy where you must constantly stay one step ahead of the Wet Bandits, Harry and Marv, as they chase you through the house.
How to Play
Your goal is to avoid capture while the 20-minute timer ticks down. Use the arrow keys (D-pad) to move through the house and climb stairs. Press the Z key (A button) to jump, and the X key (B button) to pick up items scattered around the rooms and drop them as traps to trip up the bandits.
Tips
- Keep moving: Harry and Marv will constantly track your position. Never stay in one room for too long, and use the multiple staircases to loop around them.
- Manage your traps: You can only carry a limited number of items. Drop traps like tarantulas or micro machines near doorways where the bandits are forced to walk through.
- Hide in the basement: The basement and the attic offer good vertical escapes if you find yourself cornered, but make sure you have an exit strategy before heading in.
