Game description:

Released in 1998 by Interactive Studios, Glover is a distinctive 3D puzzle-platformer for the Nintendo 64. Instead of typical platforming, you control a magical four-fingered glove tasked with guiding a bouncing rubber ball through a series of surreal worlds to restore the fractured Crystal Kingdom. The physics-based gameplay requires you to roll, bounce, throw, and slap the ball across perilous obstacles, constantly switching the ball’s form between rubber, bowling ball, and crystal to solve environmental puzzles.

How to play

Your primary objective is to carefully maneuver your ball to the goal in each level without letting it shatter or fall into hazards. For Nintendo 64 games in the browser, movement is typically mapped to the Arrow keys, with action buttons (A, B, and C-buttons) mapped to Z, X, and the surrounding letter keys (A, S, Q, W), and Enter for Start. The challenge comes from managing both Glover’s platforming and the ball’s momentum simultaneously.

Tips

  • Remember that you can cast a spell to change the ball’s material at any time: the heavy bowling ball sinks in water and breaks through weak floors, the crystal ball gives double points but shatters easily, and the rubber ball bounces high.
  • If you lose the ball, press the call button to summon it back to you instantly, though doing this too often can cost you lives.
  • You can ride on top of the ball in water to paddle across safely without risking the ball sinking or getting stuck.
