Frogs and Flies is a competitive action game published by Mattel Electronics for the Atari 2600 in 1982. Two frogs sit on lily pads in a pond, leaping into the air to catch passing insects as the time of day shifts from morning to night. Whether playing against the computer or a friend, the goal is to end the day with the most points.
How to Play
You need to time your leaps to intercept flies in mid-air. Your frog will automatically extend its tongue at the peak of the jump to catch them. Below are the browser controls:
| Joystick control: | ||
 | Player 1: | Player 2: |
| joystick | ââââ | TGFH |
| trigger | Spacebar | A |
| turbo | Del | . |
| RESET | F12 | F12 |
| SELECT | F11 | F11 |
| Pause | Alt+P | Alt+P |
| black-white / color mode:Â F2 | ||
| paddle / joystick mode: Alt+L | ||
Tips
- Watch the flight paths: Flies often follow predictable horizontal patterns. Wait for them to drift into range rather than jumping wildly.
- Control your trajectory: The joystick direction you hold when jumping determines your angle. Use straight vertical leaps for flies directly overhead, and angled jumps to cross between the two lily pads.
