The Firemen is a top-down action game released by Human Entertainment for the SNES in 1994. Instead of fighting traditional enemies, you take on the role of Pete, a firefighter working alongside his AI partner Daniel to extinguish blazes and rescue civilians trapped inside a burning New York high-rise.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate the burning building, putting out dynamic fires before they spread and overwhelm you. Use the arrow keys (D-pad) to move, and the Z and X keys (SNES A/B buttons) to shoot a straight water stream or a downward spray. You can lock your aiming direction to strafe by holding the shoulder buttons, allowing you to back away from approaching flames while continuing to spray. Press Enter to start or pause the game.
Tips
- Fires can re-ignite if they aren’t fully extinguished. Make sure the area is completely clear before moving on.
- When you find injured civilians, spray them with your hose to protect them from the flames until Daniel secures them.
- Save your limited water bombs for the massive “boss” fires at the end of each level.
