Game description:

Final Fantasy II is a classic role-playing game developed by Square and originally released in 1988 for the NES. In this unreleased USA prototype, players guide four heroes who join a resistance movement to stop an evil empire from conquering the world.

Explore towns, navigate dungeons, and battle enemies in turn-based combat to advance the story. Instead of traditional experience points, character attributes grow based on how they are used. On the NES, use the D-pad to move, A to confirm actions, B to cancel, and Start to access the menu (mapped to arrow keys, Z/X, and Enter/Shift in the browser).

Tips

  • Since stats improve based on usage, repeatedly perform the actions you want to strengthenโ€”such as attacking to boost physical damage or casting magic to level up specific spells.
  • You can target your own party members during combat; having characters attack each other is a well-known trick to quickly increase their maximum HP.
