F-1 Sensation (released in Europe as Formula 1 Sensation) is a realistic racing simulator developed by Konami for the NES in 1993. As one of the few officially FIA-licensed games for the system, it features authentic drivers, teams, and all 16 tracks from the 1992 Formula One season, plus two bonus courses. Rather than simple arcade action, the game focuses heavily on strategy, requiring players to choose the right chassis, adjust downforce, and adapt to shifting weather conditions throughout a full Grand Prix.
How to Play
Your objective is to qualify for a good grid position and outrace the competition to secure the World Championship. The D-pad steers your vehicle, while A is used to accelerate and B applies the brakes. Pressing Select pauses the game, and Start confirms menu choices.
Tips
- Watch the Weather: The weather forecast isn’t just for show. If rain is predicted, make sure you pit to switch to wet tires, as running slicks on a wet track will drastically reduce your grip.
- Strategic Pit Stops: Don’t wait until your car is heavily damaged. Timely pit stops to repair your wings or engine can save your race, even if it costs you a few seconds in the short term.
