Dragon’s Magic (Japan) is a 1993 action platformer for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It is the Japanese release of the console adaptation of Dragon’s Lair. Unlike the laserdisc arcade original, this title is a challenging 2D side-scrolling adventure where you guide Dirk the Daring through Mordroc’s castle to rescue Princess Daphne.
How to Play
Navigate the castle using the directional pad, mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys. The SNES face buttons are mapped to Z, X, A, and S, allowing Dirk to jump and attack with his sword. Use Enter for the Start button and right Shift for Select.
Tips
- Dirk’s movement is deliberate and heavy. Commit to your jumps carefully, as you have limited control in mid-air.
- Take your time to learn enemy patterns and trap timings. Like the arcade original, memorization is often the key to survival.
