Bobby’s World is an unreleased platformer developed by Riedel Software Productions for the Super Nintendo (SNES) in 1994, based on the popular animated TV series. Though fully completed, publisher Hi Tech Expressions went out of business before it could hit store shelves, leaving it lost until a prototype ROM surfaced. Players control Bobby Generic as he navigates through levels themed after his vivid daydreams, from outer space and underwater settings to the Wild West, shifting between traditional side-scrolling platforming and shoot-’em-up boss encounters.
How to Play
The goal is to survive Bobby’s imaginary hazards and defeat the boss at the end of each daydream. Like most SNES platformers, the default controls map to your arrow keys for movement, while you jump and interact with objects using the Z and X keys. The Enter key functions as Start to pause or begin the game.
Tips
- Explore levels thoroughly; Bobby’s daydreams often hide extra health and power-ups in out-of-the-way corners.
- The gameplay style shifts during boss battles, often adopting a shoot-’em-up mechanic where you must learn the boss’s attack pattern to find openings.
