Batsu & Terry is a 1987 side-scrolling action platformer released exclusively for the Famicom in Japan by Use Corporation. Based on a popular high school baseball manga, the game surprises players by swapping the diamond for traditional side-scrolling action. You take control of the titular duo as they race through six challenging worlds against a strict time limit.
How to Play
The objective is to navigate each stage and reach the finish line before time runs out. You begin as Batsu, who attacks enemies from a distance by throwing baseballs. If Batsu’s health is depleted, control switches to Terry, who relies on his baseball bat for close-range melee strikes. Use the D-pad (mapped to arrow keys) to move, A/B (Z/X) to jump and attack, and Start/Select (Enter/Shift) to pause.
Tips
Defeating enemies is crucial, as they can restore your health to keep you in the game. Look out for heart icons to gain extra lives and POW items to upgrade your attacks.
