Game description:

The Krion Conquest is a 1990 NES action platformer published by Vic Tokai Corporation — and the western release of the Japanese game Magical Kids Doropie. You control a young witch who fights through side-scrolling stages by firing magical projectiles, in a game that wears its Mega Man influences openly: tight platforming, pattern-based enemies, and a boss encounter at the end of each stage.

How to play

Use the arrow keys to move. X (A button) jumps; Z (B button) fires your magic shot forward. Enter starts the game; Shift is Select. Shots travel straight ahead — position yourself early and fire before enemies can close in.

Tips

  • Enemy placement and platform timing are fixed, so each attempt teaches the stage. Memorisation is as important as reflexes here.
  • Boss encounters follow predictable attack cycles — hold back, watch a full pattern play out, then commit to firing during the safe window.
  • The difficulty is steep even by NES standards. Expect early deaths; progress comes from learning each section, not from reacting faster.
