Mario is Missing! is a 1992 educational platformer for the NES published by Software Toolworks. In a role reversal for the franchise, Bowser has kidnapped Mario, leaving Luigi as the sole playable hero. His mission is to travel across real-world cities and recover stolen cultural artifacts to thwart Bowser’s bizarre plot to melt Antarctica with hair dryers.
How to play
The goal in each city is to track down Koopas, jump on them to retrieve stolen artifacts, and return the items to the city’s information booths. Returning an artifact requires answering a trivia question about it correctly. Since Luigi cannot be killed by enemies, you can explore the cities at your own pace without fear of getting a game over.

Tips
- Talk to the people on the street. Their dialogue contains the answers to the trivia questions you’ll face at the information booths.
- Use the city map frequently to keep your bearings, track down remaining Koopas, and locate the exit pipe once all artifacts are returned.
