Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game is Konami’s 1990 NES port of their hit arcade brawler. One or two players choose from Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, or Michelangelo and fight through ten stages of Foot Soldiers, with bosses including Bebop, Rocksteady, and Shredder himself waiting at the end.
How to play
Move with the arrow keys. Z attacks and X jumps; pressing Z and X together triggers a special attack that hits everything nearby but costs a small amount of health. Collect pizza slices and full pizza boxes to restore health — they are your only healing. Two-player mode runs simultaneously: a second player joins on the same keyboard or a gamepad.
Tips
- Donatello’s bo staff has the longest reach of the four turtles, making him the most forgiving pick for new players.
- Save the special attack (Z+X) for bosses or when you are surrounded — the health cost adds up quickly if you lean on it.
- Never leave pizza behind. Even a single slice matters late in the game when every point of health counts.
