Game description:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters is a 2D fighting game developed and published by Konami for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. Featuring a roster of ten fighters including Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Shredder, and original characters like Aska, the game pits the Turtles against one another and formidable bosses in fast-paced competitive combat.

How to Play

Select your fighter and battle through single-player tournament matches or against a second player. Each character features a unique move set alongside light and heavy punches and kicks. Defend against incoming strikes by holding back on the directional control, and land hits to charge your Mutagen super meter for devastating Ultimate Attacks.

Default Controls

  • D-Pad / Arrow Keys: Move left or right, crouch (Down), jump (Up), and block (Hold Back away from opponent)
  • Light Punch / Heavy Punch: Z / X keys
  • Light Kick / Heavy Kick: A / S keys
  • Start / Select: Enter / Shift

Tips & Strategies

  • Manage the Mutagen Meter: Land attacks and block incoming strikes to charge your super bar under your health gauge. When completely full, execute your fighter’s Ultimate Attack with Quarter-Circle Forward + Heavy Punch + Heavy Kick.
  • Utilize Low Guard: Crouch and hold Back-Down to block low kicks and sweeps, as standard standing blocks leave you vulnerable to low attacks.
  • Master Spacing and Projectiles: Use long-reach special attacks like Donatello’s staff thrusts or Shredder’s energy blasts to keep high-damage close-quarters opponents at bay.
