Originally hitting arcades before its 1991 Sega Mega Drive port across Japan and Europe, this classic arcade-style wrestling title puts you in the boots of a rookie aiming for the Sega Wrestling Alliance championship. Instead of offering a deep technical simulation, the action focuses on fast-paced brawling against a colourful roster of opponents who are barely disguised parodies of real-world wrestling legends from the 1980s.
How to Play
Your goal is to work your way up the ranks, defeating eight increasingly difficult challengers to win the championship belt. Keep an eye on the clock, as every match has a strict three-minute time limit. Use the following controls to fight:
- Move: D-pad (mapped to Arrow Keys)
- Punch: A button (mapped to Z)
- Kick: B button (mapped to X)
- Grapple: C button (mapped to C)
- Pause / Confirm: Start button (mapped to Enter)
Tips
- Mash to win grapples: Grappling is the core of your heavy offence. Once you lock up by pressing the Grapple button, you must mash the buttons as rapidly as possible to overpower your opponent and execute a slam.
- Don’t trade strikes: Standing still and trading punches will deplete your health bar quickly. Move in for quick hits, back away, and transition to grapples once your opponent is softened up.
- Watch for count-outs: Being thrown out of the ring triggers a 20-second count-out timer. Reposition yourself quickly and carefully to avoid a frustrating disqualification loss.
