Wing Commander: The Secret Missions is a space combat simulation released for the SNES in 1993. Set between the events of the first and second games, players return to the cockpit of Confederation starfighters to defend human colonies from a devastating new Kilrathi super-weapon. The game offers tense, first-person dogfighting, requiring players to manage their ship’s shields, weapons, and speed while navigating through deep space combat zones.
The objective is to complete a branching campaign of patrol and strike missions, destroying enemy fighters and capital ships. For the browser emulator, the SNES controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the arrow keys to pilot your ship, Z and X (mapped to the B and A buttons) to fire primary lasers and missiles, and Enter to pause or view the tactical map.
Pay close attention to your radar to track enemy movements and avoid being flanked by Kilrathi fighters. Managing your afterburner fuel and shield strength is critical; do not exhaust your energy in early skirmishes, as you may need it to survive against heavier ships.
