Wimbledon Championship Tennis (USA) (Beta) is an early, pre-release version of the 1993 tennis simulation for the Sega Genesis. As an official tournament tie-in, it focuses on delivering a demanding sports experience where positioning and timing are critical to dominating the grass courts.
The objective is to outscore your opponent across standard tennis sets and matches. Use the D-pad to move your player around the court. The action buttons control your swings: use A for a lob, B for a standard flat shot, and C for a slice (mapped to your browser’s configured Genesis controls). Serving requires pressing a shot button to toss the ball, then pressing it again at the apex of the toss for maximum power.
To win consistently, avoid constantly rushing the net unless you have forced your opponent out of position with a wide shot. Staying near the center of the baseline between returns gives you the best coverage to reach fast cross-court rallies.
