Game description:

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter is a first-person shooter developed by Iguana Entertainment and published by Acclaim for the Nintendo 64 in 1997. You play as Tal’Set, a warrior who carries the title of Turok, drawn into the Lost Land — a primeval realm outside normal time where dinosaurs, jungle temples, and armoured soldiers exist side by side. The mission is to recover the scattered pieces of the Chronoscepter before the warlord Campaigner can use it to dominate all of existence.

How to Play

Turok is a first-person shooter with large, hub-based 3D environments. You explore on foot, collecting keys and weapons to unlock the next area while dealing with enemies that range from raptors and T-Rexes to human troopers and mechanical sentinels. Your arsenal grows from a hunting knife and bow through to rocket launchers and energy weapons — the Automag pistol has unlimited ammo, so conserve your heavier firepower for tougher targets.

Browser controls (typical N64 emulator defaults — a gamepad is strongly recommended):

  • Move / Strafe: Arrow keys
  • Jump: Left Shift
  • Fire: Z
  • Cycle Weapons: X / A
  • Start / Pause: Enter

Tips

  • The Automag pistol never runs dry — switch to it when you need to conserve ammo between encounters.
  • Raptors close the distance quickly; start shooting before they charge, or back away to keep them in your sights.
  • The Lost Land is built on exploration: revisit areas after unlocking new passages — life force, extra lives, and weapon upgrades hide off the main path.
