Tsuppari Wars is a unique hybrid of strategy and action released for the Famicom (NES) in 1991 by Sammy. Playing like a street-brawling version of Risk, the game puts you in command of a gang of Japanese delinquents fighting to conquer urban territory. You move your units across a board-game-style map, and when rival gangs clash over a district, the game shifts into a real-time, hand-to-hand combat sequence to decide the victor.
How to Play
The main objective is to expand your gang’s turf and eliminate the leaders of the rival colors. On the strategy map, you decide where to invade or defend. When a battle begins, use the D-pad (Arrow Keys) to move your fighter, and the A and B buttons (Z and X keys) to punch and kick. Press Start (Enter) to pause or confirm selections, and Select (Shift) to cancel.
Tips
- Target the leaders: If you defeat a rival gang’s leader, their remaining gang members will instantly turn into neutral units, making their territory much easier to deal with.
- Mind the neutral gangs: Gray-colored neutral gangs will defend their turf fiercely if attacked, but they never initiate invasions. Save your strength and avoid fighting them unless you absolutely need their specific district.
