Game description:

Titanic is an infamous unlicensed platformer developed by Dragon Co. and published by Shenzhen Nanjing Technology for the NES in 2005. Fully playable in English via this translated ROM, the game allows players to choose between Jack or Rose as they attempt to escape the sinking ship. Known in retro gaming circles for its bizarre bootleg nature, it features exploration and ledge-climbing mechanics somewhat reminiscent of Prince of Persia.

How to Play

Your objective is to guide Jack or Rose from the lower decks up to safety while avoiding hazards and navigating tricky platforming sections. Since this is an NES game running in your browser, the default controls apply: use your Arrow Keys to move and climb, Z and X for the A and B buttons (jump and action), and Enter or Shift for Start and Select.

Tips

  • Master the ledge grab: The game relies heavily on climbing mechanics. Make sure you understand how to grab and pull yourself up onto platforms, as many jumps require precise positioning.
  • Expect stiffness: The controls are notoriously clunky. Take your time navigating hazards rather than rushing through the screens.
  • Brace for the ending: If you manage to beat this difficult bootleg, you will be treated to a famously bizarre and completely ahistorical ending where the ship is miraculously repaired.
