Titanic (often referred to as Titanic 2005) is an unlicensed action-platformer developed by Dragon Co. for the NES. Distinct from the infamous beat ’em up Titenic, this release is a pure platforming game where you choose to play as either Jack or Rose. Your goal is to escape the sinking ship by navigating treacherous environments and climbing ledges using mechanics similar to Prince of Persia. The game is particularly known for its highly inaccurate, alternate ending where the ship is miraculously “fixed” and the disaster is averted.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive the sinking vessel by jumping over hazards and pulling yourself up ledges. Use the Arrow keys (D-pad) to move left and right. Press Z or X (A/B buttons) to jump and interact with the environment, and use Enter (Start) to begin the game.
Tips
- Master the ledge grab; the game relies heavily on precise positioning to successfully pull your character up onto platforms.
- Patience is key, as the deliberate platforming mechanics mean rushing forward will usually result in missing a jump.
