Super Street Fighter II – AFK Tournaments is a 2023 Sega Genesis romhack created by Yoni Arousement that turns the classic fighting game into an automated spectator experience. The original Tournament Mode has been replaced with a new “Watch” mode, allowing the CPU to completely control all matches in the bracket without any player input required. It also includes minor accuracy fixes, such as correcting Zangief’s Spinning Piledriver voice sample and throw animation to match the arcade original.
How to play
Since the entire purpose of this hack is to automate gameplay, there is no real playing involved! Simply navigate the menus using the default Genesis controls (D-pad mapped to arrow keys, action buttons to Z/X/C or A/S/D, and Start to Enter) to select “Watch” mode, set up the tournament bracket, and let the computer handle the rest.
Tips
This hack is perfect if you want to stream continuous CPU-vs-CPU matches or host automated betting tournaments with your friends. Since you don’t need to press any buttons once a tournament begins, you can just leave it running in the background.
