Super High Impact (Japan) is an exaggerated, arcade-style American football game released for the Super Nintendo (SNES) in 1993. Serving as the sequel to High Impact Football and laying the groundwork for what would eventually become NFL Blitz, the game ditches realistic simulation in favor of fast-paced, hard-hitting action featuring over-the-top tackles and digitized graphics.
How to play
In this browser version, use the Arrow Keys to steer your players on the field. The original SNES action buttons (A, B, X, Y, L, and R) are mapped to Z, X, A, S, Q, and W on your keyboard, which handle your passing, tackling, and play selection. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Skip the conservative plays; the arcade style rewards an aggressive, high-risk passing game and heavy blitzing on defense.
- Look for opportunities to deliver massive tackles, as the game encourages rough play without the strict penalties found in traditional simulations.
