Shougi Club (Japan) is a traditional shogi board game developed by Hect and released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1995. It brings the deep, strategic gameplay of Japanese chess to the console, allowing players to experience full shogi matches digitally.
How to Play
The objective is to capture the opponent’s king following standard shogi rules, which includes the unique mechanic of dropping captured pieces back onto the board to fight for your side. Playable directly in the browser, the standard SNES controls apply: use the arrow keys to move your cursor across the board, Z and X (mapped to A and B) to select and place pieces, and Enter (Start) to open menus.
