Game description:

Star Wars: Jedi Arena is a 1983 action game developed by Parker Brothers for the Atari 2600. Pitting two combatants against each other in lightsaber combat, the game challenges you to deflect blasts from a central seeker ball while trying to break through your opponent’s defenses.

How to play

While originally designed for the Atari’s paddle controllers, this version uses standard joystick inputs. Your goal is to block incoming lasers to protect your shield and direct the seeker’s blasts at your opponent. Once you open a gap in their shield, a direct hit scores a point. First to three points wins the match. For Player 1, use the Arrow Keys to swing your lightsaber and the Spacebar to attack. Player 2 can join in using T, F, G, H to move and A to attack.

Tips

The seeker speeds up as a volley continues, making reaction times incredibly tight. Instead of spreading your attacks, focus your blasts on a single segment of your opponent’s shield to force an opening quickly before the seeker becomes unmanageable.
