Spot Goes to Hollywood is an isometric platformer released for the Sega Genesis in 1996. Developed by Eurocom, this sequel to the popular Cool Spot once again stars the 7 Up mascot, but shifts the perspective from 2D side-scrolling to a 3D isometric viewpoint. Players guide Spot as he gets trapped inside a movie projector, forcing him to hop and shoot his way through various cinematic worlds including pirate adventures, haunted mansions, and sci-fi landscapes.
How to Play
The goal of each level is to collect red spots scattered throughout the movie sets to reach the exit, while avoiding enemies and hazards. In the browser, you can use the Arrow Keys to move Spot in isometric directions. Press Z to shoot Spot’s bubble projectiles and X to jump. Press Enter for Start.
Tips
- Since the isometric perspective can make judging jumps tricky, look at Spot’s shadow to gauge exactly where he will land.
- Take your time exploring the edges of the stages, as many hidden spots and extra lives are tucked away behind scenery that obscures your view.
