Gotcha! The Sport! is a paintball-themed action shooter released for the NES in 1987. Developed by Atlus and published by LJN, the game translates the outdoor sport into an 8-bit arcade experience where you navigate scrolling environments to capture the enemy flag.
How to play
Your goal is to cross the battlefieldโranging from woods to snow-covered terrainโgrab the opposing team’s flag, and return it to your base while dodging incoming paintballs. Keep your eyes peeled for extra ammo on the ground. Use the arrow keys to move and scroll the screen. X maps to the A button and Z to the B button. Press Enter to Start and Shift for Select. Since this originally supported the NES Zapper, you may also need to use your mouse to aim and shoot.
Tips
- Ammo is strictly limited; prioritize picking up the paintball crates that appear before you run out.
- You can be shot from both the background and the foreground, so stay mobile to avoid becoming an easy target.
