Game description:

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is a definitive 2D fighting game released for the Nintendo 64 in 1996 by Midway. It brings together every character and stage from the first three arcade titles into one massive roster. Unique to the Nintendo 64 version, it includes exclusive 3-on-3 matches and features Shao Kahn and Motaro as fully playable characters, alongside the iconic array of ninjas, cyborgs, and martial artists that defined the series.

How to Play

The objective is to defeat opponents in aggressive one-on-one matches using a mix of high and low attacks, blocks, and special moves. For Nintendo 64 controls in the browser, the D-pad or Arrow keys move your character and control jumping. High and low punches, as well as kicks, are mapped to the standard action keys (often Z, X, C, V). Block attacks using the shoulder buttons (often A, S, or Shift) and learn each character’s unique special moves and Fatalities to finish off your opponent.

Tips

  • The Aggressor meter builds up as you land or block attacks; once it flashes, your character moves faster and deals significantly more damage for a short time.
  • In 3-on-3 mode, character switching isn’t possible mid-fight. You must rely on each character’s strengths as they appear in your chosen order.
  • Memorize at least one easy Fatality or Brutality for your main character, as some bosses are notoriously difficult to defeat without a solid combo finish.
