Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge is a challenging action-platformer released for the SNES in 1992. In this unique crossover, you start as Spider-Man, tasked with defusing bombs on the outer walls of Murderworld to rescue the X-Men from the villain Arcade. Once inside, you must complete specialized, highly difficult stages tailored to each rescued heroโWolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and Gambitโbefore confronting Arcade himself.
How to Play
Each character controls differently and faces unique environmental hazards. Use the D-pad to move, B to jump, and Y to attack. Wolverine relies on close-range claw slashes, Cyclops shoots optic blasts, Gambit throws kinetic cards, and Storm can fly and shoot lightning. Spider-Man can shoot webs to swing and climb walls. In your browser, the default SNES controls map the D-pad to your arrow keys, B to the Z key, Y to the X key, and Start to Enter.
Tips
- Master Spider-Man’s Web Swing: In the opening bomb-defusal stage, precise wall-crawling and web-swinging are essential to beat the tight timer.
- Learn the Quirks: Each X-Men level feels like a different game. Storm’s underwater stages require careful buoyancy control, while Cyclops relies heavily on ranged combat and avoiding fast-moving crushers.
