Spider Fighter is a fixed-screen shooter published by Activision for the Atari 2600 in 1982. You are the sole defender of a fruit tree besieged by waves of descending spiders — shoot them before they can carry off the fruit. When the tree is picked bare, the game ends.
How to play
Move your defender left and right across the bottom of the screen and fire straight up. Spiders pour down from nests at the top in formation waves that grow faster and more numerous as you advance. Every spider you miss costs you a piece of fruit.
| Action | Key |

Tips
- Prioritise the spiders closest to the fruit — stopping them before they reach the tree matters more than chasing score chains higher up the screen.
- Your shot travels the full screen height, so lead spiders moving sideways as they drop rather than aiming at where they are right now.
- Later waves move noticeably faster; staying near centre means you can reach either side without getting caught out of position.
