Sonic & Knuckles is a classic 1994 platformer developed by Sega for the Sega Genesis. Serving as the direct sequel to Sonic 3, it introduced the unique lock-on technology, allowing players to connect previous Sonic cartridges to play as Knuckles in earlier games or combine it with Sonic 3 to experience the massive complete adventure.
How to Play
Your objective is to speed through various zones, collect rings, and defeat Dr. Robotnik. You can play as either Sonic, who uses his spin dash to race through levels, or Knuckles, who has the unique abilities to glide through the air and climb walls to reach new areas. For controls, use the D-pad (mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys) to move, and the A, B, or C buttons (typically mapped to Z, X, C) to jump. Press Start (Enter) to pause.
Tips
- Master Knuckles’ Glide: Use his glide to bypass tricky platforming sections or safely land on enemies from above, but remember he has a slightly lower jump height compared to Sonic.
- Find the Giant Rings: Explore stages thoroughly to find hidden Giant Rings, which transport you to the Blue Sphere special stages where you can collect Chaos Emeralds.
