Sky Skipper is a 1983 action game for the Atari 2600, published by Parker Brothers as a port of Nintendo’s 1981 arcade title. In it, you pilot a biplane to rescue royal family members and animals who have been captured by gorillas. The core gameplay revolves around dropping bombs to temporarily knock out the gorillas and unlock the cages, then diving down to pick up the captives before the gorillas recover.
How to play
Your objective is to clear all cages on the screen by bombing the gorillas guarding them and swooping down to grab the captives. Use the Arrow keys to pilot the biplane. Press Spacebar to drop bombs. Use F11 to select the game mode and F12 to start or reset the game.
Tips
Do not fly too low unless you are diving for a rescue, as crashing into obstacles will cost you a life. Since the cages only stay unlocked while the gorillas are stunned, position yourself close to a target cage before dropping your bomb so you have enough time to dive down and collect the captive before the gorilla wakes up.
