Game description:

Shin Souseiki Ragnacenty (known as Crusader of Centy in North America and Soleil in Europe) is an acclaimed action RPG released for the Sega Genesis in 1994. Developed by Nextech, it offers a top-down adventure that distinguishes itself with a unique companion system. You play as a young boy who loses the ability to speak to humans but gains the power to communicate with animals and monsters, exploring a bright world to uncover the true nature of the conflict between humanity and monsters.

How to Play

Navigate the world to solve puzzles and defeat enemies in real-time combat. You can equip up to two animal companions at once to combine their abilitiesโ€”for instance, pairing the lion and the penguin imbues your sword with an ice attack. In the browser, the Sega Genesis controls are typically mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys for movement, with A, S, and D (or Z, X, and C) handling your primary actions like swinging your sword, jumping, and using animal skills. Press Enter to pause and access your inventory to swap companions.

Tips

  • Experiment with Animal Combos: Combining two animals often yields powerful synergies. Try equipping the Cheetah and the Bow-Wow to run fast while your sword attacks automatically track enemies.
  • Talk to the Monsters: Because you can understand monster speech, interact with enemies when they aren’t hostile. Many provide crucial hints about puzzles and expand the game’s lore.
  • Use the Moa for Traversal: Once you acquire the Moa companion, use it to cross wide gaps and move much faster across the overworld.
