Seishun Scandal (released internationally as My Hero) is a classic side-scrolling beat ’em up developed by Coreland and published by Sega for the Arcade in 1985. You take on the role of a martial artist battling through street gangs, ninjas, and assorted enemies to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend. The game is known for its fast pace, one-hit death mechanic, and challenging boss fights at the end of each stage.
How to Play
Your objective is to fight your way to the end of each stage and defeat the boss to rescue your girlfriend. The game features one-hit deaths, so you must carefully dodge or attack enemies before they touch you. In your browser, use the Arrow keys to move, crouch, and jump. Press Z or X to punch and kick. To begin, insert a coin with Shift (or the 5 key) and press Enter (or the 1 key) to start.
Tips
- Since a single hit or projectile will cost you a life, take your time and clear enemies as they appear rather than rushing forward.
- Use jump kicks to safely deal with enemies approaching from the air or to quickly close the distance on knife-throwing gang members.
- Watch out for environmental hazards like rolling bottles and bombs, which can catch you off guard while you are focused on fighting.
