Game description:

Section-Z is a classic multi-directional shooter developed by Capcom and released in 1987. In this Famicom Disk System version, players control an astronaut equipped with a jetpack navigating the labyrinthine corridors of the Balangool space station. Unlike its arcade counterpart, this console release shifts from auto-scrolling levels to discrete, maze-like sections (from A to Z) where you must explore branching paths, find energy tanks, and defeat bosses to progress.

Your primary objective is to survive the labyrinth and destroy the station’s core. Use the arrow keys to fly in any of the eight directions. Press X (A button) to fire your weapon to the right, and press Z (B button) to fire to the left. You can press Enter to pause and Shift to select special weapons you’ve acquired. To activate a special weapon, press both Z and X simultaneously.

Tips:

  • Pay close attention to your energy meter, which acts as both your health and ammunition for special weapons. Prioritize collecting energy drops to stay alive.
  • Map out the teleporter tubes, as navigating the branching sections requires trial and error to avoid dead ends and looping paths.
